Some time ago the Team stumbled up on a story entitled "A Fatal Garment" . It reportedly took place in Tombstone, Arizona on July 24, 1880. The Team has been researching the article posted below, which can be found on the Tombstone Chamber of Commerce website. This site is being developed to document and preserve the old west history of the American Southwest. As a team, my wife and I have researched historical events for many years. Unfortunately, as we research and search for legitimate documentation, we frequently encounter numerous issues. We find misinformation posted and then perpetuated across the internet by "researchers and historians" who fail to check the accuracy of their information....

As the Tarnished West team researched articles and information, we repeatedly encountered the picture shown below, which was claimed to have been taken in Tombstone, Arizona. Our initial reaction was to flat out dispute the validity of the photo, recognizing inconsistencies with known historical details. During our discussion, one team member suggested, "I wonder if it's Dodge City and not Tombstone." This comment sparked further investigation, as Dodge City, another iconic Wild West town, could potentially align with the elements seen in the photograph....

Jack Dunlap, known in the region as "3 Fingered Jack," was discovered in the cold Arizona desert, roughly a mile away from the Fairbank train depot.
