I have spent the last 6 months learning to produce music. It's an incredibly huge learning curve with the vast amount of nuance there is in making your own tracks. I am still ramping up but I have also been learning to DJ with other people's tracks. I got my first opportunity to open up a show for Desert Beats at Black Rabbit Mead Company this past weekend. I wanted to play a mellower set with some ethnic themed deep house tracks I have listened to over the past several years. The set was well received and it was a pleasure to play for everyone. If anyone is curious, here is the set for your listening pleasure.

A beautiful melodic deep house mix inspired by desert dreams. This set is from my first public appearance opening up the Desert Beats show “Dunes After Dark” at Black Rabbit Mead in Reno, NV.

"Heaven & Earth"

Last night I was happily on my way to Emerald Bay to shoot the Aurora. About 20 minutes into my drive I had this overwhelming feeling come to me... The feeling that I just could not go stand shoulder to shoulder with every photographer in the area all getting the exact same shot. I just couldn't do it. I'd rather go home and not shoot at all. Then it came to me... I remembered a peak I had scouted on google earth during the last aurora storm. I knew I just had to make the push and get up there. I changed course and headed to the trailhead. I lightened up my pack, threw on my trail shoes grabbed some snacks and off I went. I had never hiked this trail before so I had to feel my way up there in some spots. After 2.5 miles and 2000 ft of vert straight up the damn hill I arrived at my spot. A high vantage point that allowed me to see all of Minden & Carson City to my right, Tahoe and South Lake to my left and the Aurora overhead. I got a little extra lucky with the Milky Way and the crescent moon off to the left. Happy accidents... Anyways, here is a mega pano spanning approximately 220 degrees. What a stunning past few months its been for aurora in the area. Make sure you get out to see them when they flare up again in the coming weeks. Hope you enjoy the image!

I have shot sunrise at Emerald Bay countless times in the past. But this moring from a few weeks ago took the cake. I have to wake up at 3:30 am to get here in time and that is always a major struggle. On this morning a departing storm left these incredible puffy clouds that lit up like the fourth of July as the sun started to rise. The perfectly still water really was the cherry on top with that insane reflection. I hope you enjoy the image!

“Radiance” I found this high alpine flower field on a hunch back in 2019. I’ve visited this spot every year since then. My study of this location has come to the conclusion that this particular field only blooms like this on big snow years. Having record snowfall last season I knew this past summer was going to be like when I originally found this in 2019. This time, I took my Chamonix view camera up there. Being at 9000ft the wind is traditionally always blowing. This time I got super lucky and the wind died down just long enough for me to fire off this 2 second exposure. Being able to shift the lens down to keep my verticals perfect as well as some lens tilt to get everything in perfect focus really played into the strengths of a view camera. This file is so beautiful and there is just so much insane detail from front to back. Probably the best 4x5 shot I have taken to date. Hope you enjoy!

"Incline Radiance"
3:28am. Two minutes before my alarm was supposed to go off I just naturally woke up. Not sure why I even set alarms anymore. Our bodies know what must be done. The last thing I wanted to do was get out of my nice warm and cozy bed. But I knew conditions were going to be incredible with the departing mini storm we had last night. I met up with my friend Sawyer Mahoney at the trailhead around 5am and off we went. As we approached the summit of Incline Peak in the pre dawn hours the fog was coming in and out like nothing I had ever seen before. Determined, we finally made it to the summit by headlamp. As soon as we arrive the fog dissipated and I began capturing images of this pristine scene. The sunrise was absolutely top notch and the dynamic weather plus alpenglow made for a really unique image of the lake. Hope you enjoy and any of my fine art images are available for purchase from Alpenglow Gallery in downtown Truckee. Thanks for having a look.

Happy winter solstice! A panoramic from last nights sunset over Mt. Rose meadows. There was some super cool fog that kept coming in and out. I was happy to shoot this image I am calling "Rose Solstice". Hope you enjoy!

"Solitude"
I finally got some time to develop and scan some of my more recent large format film I have shot of the area. Earlier this week there was a beautiful inversion over the lake and as soon as I saw it I threw my stuff in my truck and headed down to the beach. I had been wanting to shoot a fog event down at the lake shore because it gives this etherial vibe that I think is just so different and beautiful to the traditional bluebird Tahoe shots we all know and love. This subtle color pallet plays quite nice with mountain modern home decor and being shot on a beautiful color positive film such as Kodak Ektachrome really lends some extra nostalgic beauty to the images I captured this morning. All of my film work is offered in a super limited edition set of just 10 artist proofs. Hope you enjoy the image and thanks for having a look!
