We know we're all eagerly awaiting this Friday, June 26, 2026, when the Dicey Langston statue will be unveiled and our community will gather to honor our hometown heroine.

For generations, her story has been lovingly preserved through family memories, photographs, newspaper articles, and the dedication of those who have kept her legacy alive.

As we count down to this special day, we discovered a fascinating piece of history—a newspaper clipping from The Greenville News dated June 26, 1962. Exactly 64 years to the day before this year's unveiling. A curious and meaningful coincidence that reminds us how history has a way of connecting the past and present.

We look forward to celebrating Dicey's courage, her enduring legacy, and the people who have carried her story forward all these years.

Meet our friend Brian Kelley. He’s a local entrepreneur, photographer, and carpenter.

Brian restored this beautiful dulcimer that was hand made in the 1970’s by none other than Mann Batson!

The dulcimer was a gift to Board Member Stan Coleman from Mann’s daughter-in-law, Frankie Batson.

Talk about a sweet sound!
