The Real McCoy - Water St 1947 as it appears in a privately owned photo album. McCoy's sold radios, phonographs, records, electrical appliances and musical instruments. It seems appropriate that this is now the home of Torrington's radio station, WAPJ.

Don't miss this limited-time FREE exhibit!

"A fascinating glimpse of how the Declaration of Independence has been celebrated over time."

Torrington native and longtime Torrington Historical Society supporter George Stickles recently donated an important collection to the museum. It features documents signed by the four men from Connecticut who signed the Declaration of Independence and a document signed by John Hancock!

The Stickles' collection forms the foundation for the Echoes of Freedom exhibit. The exhibit also includes 18th century artifacts from the museum collection and items from the 1876 Centennial and the 1976 Bicentennial!

The grounds of the historical society are a magnet for wildlife. As you can see, our lush gardens are visited by rabbits and bears!
