This brochure is where it all began!

Printed back in 1974, it introduced Project 1364, an effort by Steam Inc. to restore Northern Pacific No. 1364 for America’s Bicentennial.

The goal wasn’t met in 1976, but the dream never faded.

After the Northern Pacific Railway Museum acquired the locomotive in March 1994, volunteers continued the restoration. More than 50 years after this brochure was printed, No. 1364 is once again under steam, in time for America’s 250th birthday.

Today, on Independence Day, No. 1364 signaled the start of the annual Toppen*sh Wild West Parade before taking its place in front of the depot, where the community had the opportunity to see the locomotive up close!

They may have missed the Bicentennial, but No. 1364 made it for America 250. Better late than never!

Happy Independence Day, everyone!
