🗳️📣 Little voters, BIG ideas! Starting tomorrow October 20–November 3, kids can explore our pop-up Kids Vote experience at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center!
Located in the Hall of Bright Ideas, this hands-on exhibit helps children discover how elections work, why every vote matters, and how their voices can make a difference. Vote for new puppets for our theater and learn through hands-on activities, stories, and a realistic polling place. Don't forghet to get an “I Voted” sticker!

🚀✈️ Did you know our staff hand-selects toys to complement each of our traveling exhibits? It’s a fun way to extend the experience beyond the exhibit and take a little learning home with your family! Our current exhibit is all about taking flight — from soaring through the skies to exploring outer space! You can find this and other themed toys at the Discovery Shop here at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center.

🎶 See you TOMORROW Saturday, October 17 for Music in Motion with Kyler! It's a special time to sing, dance, and make some musical memories together.

Regular admission applies, which is $11 for adults and children, $10 for seniors over 65, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members.

Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 30,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, plus a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.

📣🦋 Reminder! Join us TONIGHT, Thursday, October 15, from 5–8 p.m. for a special FREE Family Fun Night at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center!

This month, we’re partnering with Miracle Mireya Foundation to celebrate the 3rd Annual Miracle Mireya Butterfly Family Celebration.

Inspired by Mireya’s radiant smile, the evening will include special activities focused on kindness, family connection, and raising awareness about Shaken Baby Syndrome prevention through the Foundation’s Random Smiles of Kindness Campaign.

Mireya was part of our Discovery Center Medical Warriors program, and we’re honored to continue celebrating her joyful spirit and the impact she’s made on our community.

Children can receive wearable butterfly wings or a superhero cape while supplies last! Families can also explore our indoor and outdoor exhibits and enjoy an evening of serious fun together.

A big thank you to Abriona Markham, Doula with the Topeka Doula Project , for joining us at Discovery Baby last night here at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center!

Families enjoyed an evening of learning, play, and connection as Doula Abriona Markham shared about the postpartum period and shared helpful local resources to support them along the way. We are grateful for her time, expertise, and passion for helping young children and their families thrive.

Join Abriona Markham, Doula with the Topeka Doula Project, to learn more about the postpartum period and discover helpful local resources to support you along the way. The months after welcoming a new baby bring ongoing changes, new emotions, and plenty of questions as your little one grows. Whether you’re in the early weeks or several months in,

Discovery Baby is a free, fun program to introduce babies and their caregivers to a world of learning and play!

This free program is open to caregivers with a child under 12 months old. Only babies and caregivers may attend. The museum is closed to the general public during Discovery Baby workshops. No advance registration or sign-up is required and caregivers are welcome to drop in.
