⏱️ More time to play? That's our kind of summer! This summer, we're making it easier than ever to visit the Kansas Children's Discovery Center with extended hours and fantastic programs!

👶Summer Sprouts 3 and Under Playtime
Children 3 and under can enjoy the museum all to themselves from 8 to 9 a.m. every Friday in June and July before we open to the big kids!

🌙 Summer Sunday Nights at Discovery Center
Summer may be hot, but Sunday nights are very cool! We're staying open until 7 p.m. every Sunday in June and July, giving families extra time to explore after the heat of the day.

✏️ Remember: Animationland is here all summer long!
Step into the world of animation through hands-on experiences that let you create stories, experiment with sound effects, explore animation tools, and even star in your own movie.

✨ Plus, our summer calendar is packed with weekly programs led by our incredible education team. Build with Laboratory Lainey, jump with Jeanette, explore the outdoors with Kelly, pop in for Bubble Parties on Fridays, and groove with Kyler!

Visit https://kansasdiscovery.org/events/ for the full schedule and program details, then make plans for a summer filled with serious fun!

🐝🌻We are buzzing with gratitude for a wonderful new addition to our sunflower gallery!

Thanks to talented seamstress Carol Hunsicker, and the support of Discovery Center board members Sherry Hunsicker and Stephanie Valley, children visiting the museum can soon enjoy a new collection of handmade bee vests during imaginative play.

The photo features Chase and Everly Hunsicker helping bring the gallery to life as busy little pollinators.

These playful costumes help children explore the important role bees play in nature while encouraging creativity, movement, and storytelling through play. Thank you to the Hunsicker family for helping make the Discovery Center even more joyful for visiting families!

A big thank you to the Advisors Excel volunteers who joined us at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center this week!

They carefully sanitized high contact areas through out the museum, which included Top City Build, Grow, Infant Sensory Garden, Dinosaurs, Ramp Racing, the Art Pavilion and areas in Hall of Bright Ideas.

We are lucky to have wonderful volunteers from Advisors Excel helping us to keep spaces safe and clean for our community.

We’re incredibly grateful to the volunteers from who spent the morning at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center.

Their team helped with several spaces our community enjoys every day, from the parking lot and wildflower habitat to the landscaping around the building. Inside Toddler Town, they cleared debris and leaves and wiped down play components, and they even made their way to the pond area to pull weeds.

It’s work like this that helps keep the Discovery Center clean, safe, and welcoming for all who visit.
