Calling all artists! Art Mayhem is coming to Toledo Fringe Fest 2026 on September 26 at the Collingwood Arts Center. You’ll have 3 hours to create your masterpiece before Fringe Fest opens, followed by 2 hours of LIVE painting while the crowd watches. Then, it’s time for the finale, where the audience decides what happens to your artwork!!

$25 registration | Individual artists only | Canvas, paint, and brushes provided | No outside supplies | Five colors provided, including black and white.

Throwback Thursday: A Look Inside Mary Manse College

Before the Collingwood Arts Center became a home for artists and creatives, these halls belonged to Mary Manse College. Founded by the Ursuline Sisters in 1922, Mary Manse was Toledo’s first women’s college and became an important center for nursing, education, music, and the arts. Its growing campus stretched through the Old West End, incorporating historic homes and buildings, including the 1872 Ge**er House. The college even played a role in Toledo’s musical history, hosting some of the earliest meetings and performances connected to what would become the Toledo Symphony.

Mary Manse became coeducational in 1971 but closed in 1975 after years of financial struggles. A decade later, the academy building, Ge**er House, and chapel were rescued from demolition and given new life as the Collingwood Arts Center. Today, CAC continues the tradition of creativity, community, and the arts on a campus with more than a century of stories behind its walls.
