A group of nearly 50 people met for a Johnston County Historical Society Meeting at the steps of the newly remodeled Historical 1919 Hotel on the campus of Murray State College. MSC President, Dr. Faltyn gave the group updates about the recent changes to MSC Campus. After a grand tour of the 1919 Hotel the group loaded on MSC buses and toured the new Gunsmithing facility, Class Room building and the beautiful new spacious Ball Room and Cafeteria. Also the newly remodeled Wrestling facility in the historical Armory was toured. A BIG thank you to Dr Faltyn, Justin Cellum and Jordyn Frazier for the wonderful tour and for your welcoming hospitality. We love how you kept the Historical quality of the Buidings!!

It's National 4-H week. We are so proud to say it all started here in Johnston County as the Boys Corn Club in 1909 and in 1910 the girls Tomato and Canning Club. In 1908, W.B. Bentley a pioneer of agriculture extention work established headquarters in Tishomingo, OK. His work aimed at helping Oklahoma Farmers and Ranchers improve the production of crops, particularly corn and cotton. It was not untill the 1920's that it was called the 4-H Club.
