Maclay Home

Maclay Home Located in Tipton, Missouri. Open for tours May - October. Built in 1858 as a girls seminary, it closed when owner left to join the Confederate Army.

It was used briefly as headquarters by General John Fremont during Civil War in October 1861.

Hometown Premiere of film about Jim Shipley and the Tuskegee airmen will be Saturday, September 12 (Septemberfest) at the Old Presbyterian Church. Film will be shown at 1:15 and again at 2 p.m. Between showings will be panel discussion with Q & A. More discussion following second showing of film. Building is air-conditioned.

NEW THIS YEAR! 👑

We're excited to introduce the 2026 Tipton Septemberfest Royalty Competition!

This contest is open to ages 0–17, with four age divisions:

✨ Mini Miss/Mr. Septemberfest | Ages 0–3
✨ Little Miss/Mr. Septemberfest | Ages 4–7
✨ Junior Miss/Mr. Septemberfest | Ages 8–12
✨ Teen Miss/Mr. Septemberfest | Ages 13–17

Each division will have one Miss and one Mr. winner voted on virtually by the community. Winners will receive a sash and be honored alongside their fellow royalty on a special float in the Septemberfest parade!

Nominations are open now and must be submitted online by a parent or legal guardian.

Nominations close Friday, July 31, 2026.
