Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site

Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site includes a self-guided interpretive trail and a small museum. Guided tours are available by appointment.

Ancestral Pueblo people occupied the site between A.D. 1313 and 1425. Trail and museum exhibits describe and illustrate how the people lived. Site tours and classroom visits are offered to school and community groups. Books, maps and gifts are available in the gift shops located in our museum and the Sandia Ranger Station. The quarter-mile interpretive trail is ALWAYS open; the museum is open when

docents are available, generally on Fridays and Saturdays. Contact information:

Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site gardens may be in winter mode, but they still have interesting patterns, textures and colors. You just have to look more closely and with an open mind. “There’s nothing to see here” becomes, “Oh, wow! This is kinda cool!” With a sharp eye, you may even find some tiny blooms!”
