One of the latest donations comes from the Anderson family. This is quite possibly the cornerstone of the Ticonderoga Pulp & Paper Company's Island Mill constructed in 1891. It was rescued many years ago from the waters of La Chute River near the Frazier Bridge area. We just picked it up today and still must determine the best method for display and signage.

If you have unique items like this or any other small item, paper, photos, yearbooks, paper making related, and other material that relates to Ticonderoga's industrial or business history, please consider contacting us to donate those items so we can house, protect, and share these with residents, visitors, and researchers.

Do you have these just laying around the house taking up space? How about old Ticonderoga school yearbooks? Old business and industry receipts, papers, envelopes, photographs, etc.? Paper mill items and trinkets?

Perhaps you would consider donating these to the Ticonderoga Heritage Museum. We have an extensive collections management system and would love to add these to our collection for future exhibits and to share Ticonderoga's industrial history with the community and researchers.

My dad, now 87, was a steward on the MV Ticonderoga on Lake George for two summers in the midFifties. Even though his memory is fading a bit, he loves to tell us stories about his time on "the boat". With Christmas coming up, I was wondering if there were any good "picture" books of the MV Ticonderoga and the old hotels that used to be around the lake in the 50s. He's not so much into reading anymore, but he loves picture books and magazines with large pictures. Also, another shot in the dark question - I know the boat was ripped up for scrap sometime in the 90s - I was wondering, did anybody think of keeping some bits and pieces for memorabilia? Even just a little piece of metal or something? I would love to be able to give him a little bit of his boat for Christmas. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
