Painting away…fyi; artist Smith’s painting MO is that I always have at least a half dozen paintings hanging around that are works in progress…

I can bounce around on various projects over the years…commissions or other artistic desires/challenges come around and off I go there…

…subject that are deemed more salable I try to focus on more vs what might be my artistic desires…

This big sucker I abandoned a couple years ago, but people water coming by really liked it, so I’m attempting to “bring this puppy home” - get it frickin done.

Anyway, this is artist smiths life today…Dozens of folks walking downtown Tiburon looking at the sea.. some popping in…

Typical artist B. Smith behavior;

instead of finishing up my no doubt giant moonrise over the Golden Gate huge soon to be masterpiece,

I stumble upon a previous unfinished painting while doing endless god damn gallery cleaning and organizing…
.and decide I can “bring it home fairly quickly”, so here I am working on
“Love at last Sight” on a rainy Tiburon night.

Currently On the easel; a big painting of the moonrise over the Golden Gate Bridge, by Barry Smith here at Smith Gallery Tiburon. (5’ square acrylic on canvas).

FYI, a big ass canvas painting like this one is really many many smaller paintings that all have to mesh together as one vision…not an easy task… A regular smaller size canvas has only one star and maybe a couple co-stars to dial in.

…I think it’s coming along nicely…many gallery visitors are already drawn to it and it’s only maybe 2/3’s done or so.

I have to add the bay bridge and dial in the city, the bridge and add much more magic about the canvas before I’ll call it quits!
Bs says that one’s level of talent tells the artist when they are done - I’m far from done!

Currently on the easel;

“View from Sausalito”, (all acrylic), and “Sam’s Anchor Cafe”, an original mixed media (basically I use my photograph sprayed onto canvas with real pigments (giclee print), then I use this as a starting point when I “go to town” on it with my acrylic paints.
