The Three Lakes Historical Society Museum consists of five refurbished historic buildings from Three Lakes and the surrounding area and two exhibit halls. A research and reference area with computer workstation and wireless internet access is available.

Farm Stand Friday at the Three Lakes Historical Museum. Corn, melons, & tomatoes. 9:30 until we sell out. Leave a comment here if you plan on stopping for corn. Join us this Thursday August 6 for our last Immersion Excursion of
2026, our series of “out of museum experiences”, where we will be headed to Wolf Lake in the Kimball Creek Unit of the Nicolet - Chequamegon National Forest, 16 miles east of Three Lakes. We will talk about the history of the area which will include Military Road. Joining us will be Chad Kirschbaum of the US Forest Service!
Meet us at 10 at the Demmer Library to caravan, or head there yourself - Highway 32 east to Military Road to Sheltered Valley Road, then about 2.5 miles to Wolf Lake where you will see the orange cones! We will be meeting in the Day Use area there.

Sloppy D’s food truck starting after 4 serving her famous smash burgers (cash & Venmo) Hollow Tree will be firing up their outdoor BBQ. AND we are celebrating Adam’s Cabins! 100 years on Spirit Lakes!

In 1933, amidst possibly the most dire of times our country had faced, the Great Depression, President Franklin Roosevelt created a relief program that saved a generation of hundreds of thousands of young men from extreme poverty, malnutrition, and despair. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) allowed single men between the ages of 18 and 25 to enlist in work programs across the country to improve America’s public lands, forests, and parks. Enrollees earned $30 a month, and were required to send $25 back home to support their struggling families, pumping crucial cash into local economies.
The Three Lakes area benefited from 20 plus permanent and temporary worksites in the Nicolet National Forest to the east of town. The legacy of their work is still seen in many places today.
