Three Forks, Montana Museums & Historical Society The Railroad & Trident Heritage Center and Headwaters Heritage Museum operate under the Headwaters Area Historical Society.

The mission is to preserve local history, making it available for study and research. Entrance is free with donations appreciated. Both museums are free and open to the public. We do ask for contributions to keep our museums operating. We welcome new members and volunteers, as well as contributions.

We want to thank all who visited the Headwaters Heritage Museum during the 7th Annual Three Forks Ladies Night Fall Walk. Additionally, thanks to all who supported our Raffle - the winner is Summer G. We have no time to be idle - our "big boss" up North informed us to expect a large turnout at the Three Forks Christmas Stroll, to be held Friday, December 4th, from 3:00 - 8:00, so our elves are working on the much loved Christmas stockings!🎄

Our regular season has ended, but we are not done. Stop by the Headwaters Heritage Museum during the Ladies Night Falk Walk, Thursday, October 1st. We will be selling raffle tickets on our beautiful ceramic baking dish full of Fall goodies. The Museum gift shop will be open with an end of the season sale - our 250th Anniversary Celebration shirts will be $15.00 and all remaining gift shop merchandise is 20% off.

It has been a whirlwind at the Headwaters Heritage Museum & Gift shop and the Railroad and Trident Heritage Center since our openings June 1st. We have hosted tours and our gracious volunteers have shared our area's history with many visitors. Rodeo weekend brought many old and new friends. We want to thank all who bought tickets for our $250 Gift Basket Raffle, and announce Jean Mohs as the winner. We also want to thank our anonymous donor for the statue of the indigenous mother and infant who have a strong resemblance to Sacagawea and baby Jean Baptiste (Pomp). We continue to replace our failing windows, and continue to welcome the financial support for our endeavors.
