ISU art gallery ISU’s permanent art collection and UAG are unique educational resources that serve the campus, surrounding communities, and the region.

The University Art Gallery (UAG) of Indiana State University (ISU) is an educational and cultural institution dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting modern and contemporary

art. As a component of the Department of Art, UAG’s programs adhere to the overall mission of ISU, embracing its values of academic excellence and community engagement. Through its innovative exhibitions and programs, UAG seeks to promote scholarship, inspire creative excellence, and deepen an understanding of the visual arts. About the Gallery

The University Art Gallery collects, preserves, and exhibits primarily American modern and contemporary art. Curatorial staff organizes original exhibitions of works in all media by regionally to internationally acclaimed contemporary artists, as well as works from ISU’s permanent art collection. Among the highlights of past schedules were solo shows for Leonard Baskin, Richard Hunt, Vera Klement, Ida Kohlmeyer, Andrew Moore, and Philip Pearlstein. Additionally the Gallery presents graduating art student exhibitions each semester, as well as an annual ISU art faculty show. An annual Juried Student Exhibition is open to all ISU students. The University Art Gallery is a non-profit organization; all exhibitions, receptions, and lectures are free and open to the public. Lectures take place in the Music Recital Hall located directly across from the Gallery in the Richard G. Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts. The Gallery and recital hall are wheelchair accessible. The Gallery is typically closed for five days between exhibitions for de-installation and installation of artwork; staff is generally available by telephone or email at these times. The Gallery is also closed to the public during federal holidays; ISU’S fall, winter, and spring breaks; and June through late August.
