This is a picture from the 1982 Camellia Parade sent to us by Kirsten Shore. It features the Girl Scout troop from Cloverly School with their float. The theme of the festival that year was "Scrapbook of Memories" and the grand marshal was Tom Hatten.

In 1969 a cafeteria for La Rosa School was built. This photo of construction appeared in the Temple City Times. Originally La Rosa School was to be part of the Rosemead School District, but when Temple City unified in 1954 the area around the school was annexed. La Rosa Elementary School opened in 1955.

These two Temple City boys, John Culea and Gary Runyon, have been friends since elementary school. They are pictured here in the third grade, circa 1950. Gary lived on Rowland Ave. and John lived on Golden West Ave. Do you still keep in touch with childhood friends you met growing up in Temple City?

John Van De Veere (right) and Rich Hollinger (left) both attended Temple City High School and went on to teach and coach at their alma mater until their retirement. They will be in attendance at the Historical Society's General Membership meeting on Sunday at 2pm to share their memories of the TCHS sports programs. All are invited to attend and reservations are not needed.
