Another recent painting.
"Quiet Reflections"
A great blue heron, reference photo credit goes to Mary MacEachron.

Observing nature can " teach us" if we take the time to reflect on what we see.

The great blue heron gracefully moves through shallow waters to find just the best place to " fish", then he waits patiently for just the right time to make a move.

I find myself rushing around trying to do too many things! And I get impatient when things don't turn out the way I think they should! The Lord may be trying to tell me something...ya think?
I think so!

Second painting from our plein air adventure. "Cyprus Reflections".
Set up easel just off the walking trail and started this painting. That day there was only mud and no reflections this side of the trees. Four days later John and I went up for a " walk about" and it had rained and the water was there and a beautiful reflections!
So back to the the studio and I painted the water over the mud!

Good morning, folks! As a multimedia artist my creative time is decided between fiber art ,pyrography, and painting. In fact visitors to Scott Street Gallery will find this artist with two easels set up and works in progress on both!
Two painting from a recent Tahlequah River Valley Artist Plein air adventure have recently come off the easel.
The first is entitled "Early morning light ". We gathered at 7:30 A.M. and headed up to Indian Boundary Lake. A pull off area with this beautiful view of the morning light and mist coming up from the mountains was cause for a stop!
" The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork " Psalm 19:1 , came to my mind.

Scott Street Gallery is featuring a new bear this week.
" Bear in the Biers'
He was looking for black berries,
but found only briers ! That happens sometimes! But I'm sure if he will look around other berries can be found. Maybe even sweeter , and no briers !

" Bear in the Briers" is available at Scott Street Gallery .
16 x 20 canvas print, ready to hang or a frame may be added.
Also available as a matted print on watercolor paper .

Amazing gathering of artist on Scott Street last Friday Aug. 28th for the monthly Fourth Friday Art Walk!
Featured artist were The Tahlequah River Valley Artist, Mattie Hayes and her students and other invited artist.
Four artist were at Scott Street Gallery and the rest were set up in front of the other shops to demonstrate the process of creating their art.
September art walk is Friday 25th from 4-7 p.m.

You often hear of bear sightings at different places. Well several bears have come into Scott Street Gallery...by way of paint,paint brushes and canvas of course !
They will be showing up on face book posts from time to time.
The first to be featured is entitled " Uninvited Guest". Some folks in the mountains were having a cook out. This bear " got wind of it" and decided to investigate. Peering from the tree he hoped to be invited....but...well! Thus the title
" Uninvited Guest".
