Working on next newsletter, but overwhelming trying to figure out what to feature. Another favorite: Seil Island, part of the Scottish Slate Islands. Coastal town that mined for slate... SO RURAL, and I love that. Nearby islands have no cars, and the only way to get from one to another is by ferry. Oh I felt the wonder of this place. πŸ’™

Finished "Friends of the Field in Ireland" (30x36). Overwhelmed by beauty - Wanted to start with a humble scene/story. I plan to do that thatched roof cottage and border collie, but for now, green fields and fat, happy sheep who are curious what their friend has in his bucket. πŸ’šπŸ‘

Hint on my next painting! πŸ˜ƒ In Ireland, we visited a CHARMING, centuries old, family farm - loved the thatched roofs. Made and ate scones (w/ homemade rhubarb preserves) and watched a border collie herd sheep. Can "ewe" guess what I'll paint? πŸ’šπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Back from Ireland & Scotland! No new painting yet, but here’s Stirling Castle in Scotland – a favorite. Structures date from 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. Loved how it is so intact, including inner/outer walls you can walk on. It was Mary, Queen of Scots. childhood home, and she was crowned here in 1542. Magnificent! πŸ’š

Finished "Summer Evening II" (30x48). Did a similar one years ago, but I wanted more sky. Lush crops leading to our mountain horizon's fading light under an expansive, enchanted sky. πŸ’›

Finished "Returning from Fishing" (24x36). Thunderstorms surprised them, but they're happy to have shared that time and to come back to their warm, cozy adobe for dinner and story time. πŸ’œ
