Inger Jirby Gallery and Guesthouses

Inger Jirby Gallery and Guesthouses Welcome to the Inger Jirby Gallery and Guesthouse page. Come visit us in Taos, New Mexico. Inger has records of her compound that date back to 1860.

In 1996, Inger Jirby purchased the property on Ledoux Street and immediately started the restoration and minor renovations. She had the old faux ceilings removed which exposed all of the original vigas (beams). Additions to her compound included two personally designed solariums, one of which is the main room in her gallery. The natural light allows you to experience the color and beauty in her ar

t. As a finishing touch, she transformed her backyard into a magical sculpture garden featuring kinetic steel sculptures by Frederick Prescott, clay murals by Priscilla Hoback and wind sculptures by Rick Hewitt. It was a cluster of small buildings that were originally part of a small village co-habited by Spaniards and Tiwa Indians. They worked together, tending the gardens to provide food for their families. Inger Jirby’s Gallery, Guest Houses and Sculpture Garden are open year round. In addition to her art, you will find handmade kachinas by Brian Two Hawks, painted steel sculptures by Ed Haddaway, and beautifully designed leather belts and accessories by Adrienne Teeguarden. Come and take a stroll down Historic Ledoux Street and into the world of color that Inger Jirby has created. You will be happy you came.
