Taneytown History Museum The Museum provides for the care of historical artifacts to ensure that these pieces are available to future generations. We bring in artists too!

The Taneytown History Museum is located in Taneytown Maryland at 340 East Baltimore Street. We are a great collection of Taneytown and surrounding history, keeping Taneytown's history alive. The museum is open from April through October each year, typically Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as for special events. We are at the intersection of 140 (Baltimore Street) and Baumgardner Avenue.

The final day is tomorrow to behold this exceptionally detailed wood carving by John T Ridinger, (1932-2024) of Harney, Md, is tomorrow. The artisan devoted 2,000 hours to its creation. Mrs. Ridinger visited with us today and is pictured sitting next to the carousel.
