Taneytown History Museum The Museum provides for the care of historical artifacts to ensure that these pieces are available to future generations. We bring in artists too!

The Taneytown History Museum is located in Taneytown Maryland at 340 East Baltimore Street. We are a great collection of Taneytown and surrounding history, keeping Taneytown's history alive. The museum is open from April through October each year, typically Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as for special events. We are at the intersection of 140 (Baltimore Street) and Baumgardner Avenue.

THE CIRCUS IS COMING TO THE MUSEUM!! The JOHN T. RIDINGER WOOD CIRCUS CARVINGS. John lived in nearby Harney, Md. He was a member of Circus Model Builders, Miniature Carousel Builders, Circus Club of America and Conewage Carvers Club. These are intricate wood carvings you don' want to miss seeing!! This will be a two day only exhibit.

THMA meeting May 18th with guest speaker Lew Mendenhall who gave a presentation on Hudson cars, Dover and Terraplane. He is a researcher and historian of Hudson’s for over 55 years. Hudson Day Car Show at the museum is June 13th, 10 am - 2 pm.
Meetings with guest speakers will resume in September.

Taneytown Heritage & Museum Association public meeting Monday, May 18th, 7 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ, Parish Hall, 49 W Baltimore Street, Taneytown. Brief business meeting followed by guest speaker Lew Mendenhall a researcher and historian of Hudson, Essex, Dover and Terraplane cars. He is owner of a Hudson car which he brings to the annual Hudson Day Car Show at the museum. Hudson Day Car Show will be held June 13th, 10 am - 2 pm. Other Hudson cars and their owners will be present that day. Light refreshments immediately following.
Parking in back of the church. Handicap parking on east side of the church. Admission is free.
