What Memorial Day is truly about.

The Missing Man Formation is a flight pattern performed by military aircraft, usually in groups of four or more, during ceremonies, funerals, or commemorations.
At a key moment in the flyover:
* One aircraft suddenly pulls up and climbs away from the formation
* The remaining aircraft continue flying straight ahead

The Missing Man Formation is a living tribute in the sky, a visual reminder that while one is gone, they are never forgotten by those who served beside them, by the nation they protected, and by the family and friends who love them.
If you’ve ever felt chills watching it, that’s exactly what it’s meant to do.

(This Missing Man Formation was performed May 19, 2026 over the graveside of our Founder and Friend, Dan Fordice. Performed by the Titan Aerobatic Team in their AT-6 Texans and Ben “Evil” Cook, flying the AT-6 Texan that Dan purchased and flew and that the Foundation leased for the Museum and rides. Our good friends Props n’ Gears are taking online orders for CCII t-shirts in a variety of colors and other items are available. Proceeds with support the Southern Heritage Air Foundation.

Update: We have added the remainder of our CCII Cap inventory to our online store.
(We will not be re-ordering these once they are all sold.)

We want to share that the Foundation Museum will reopen once we have completed all requirements set forth by the NTSB, FAA, and our insurance providers.

This is a difficult time for all of us, and our volunteers, and we are committed to honoring Dan’s mission by allowing space for healing and not rushing important decisions.

We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support the Foundation and the Fordice family have received, it truly means so much.
