LeMoyne was founded in 1963 by four community leaders: Mary Metzke, Clifton Lewis, June Strauss, and Nanette Fisher. Their goal was the establishment of a fine art gallery and venue for art education activities for the citizens of North Florida. Rich in history, LeMoyne is housed in a restored 1854 Antebellum home that serves as a beautiful visual arts gallery for changing local, regional and nati

onal exhibitions. The LeMoyne complex is in downtown Tallahassee and includes a gallery gift shop; an art education facility offering year-round classes; and a lush sculpture garden. Meginniss-Munroe House c. 1854
First floor offers five gallery rooms for changing exhibitions and administrative offices on the first and second floors. The first floor galleries are easily accessible via wheelchair ramp. A ceramics lab is located below the main floor. Education Center
The building is used days, nights, and weekends for year-round art classes as well as lectures and meetings by community organizations. The art library housed on the second floor offers over 1,000 volumes available for use by LeMoyne members and art students. An elevator and ramps provide total access to all classrooms. Helen Lind Sculpture Garden
The garden holds thirteen sculptures and fountains designed by seven Florida artists including Fred Holschuh, Roland Hockett, and Ralph Hurst. Garden rental is available for weddings, receptions and special events. Please call or e-mail for more information.

LeMoyne is a center for the visual arts that provides fine art exhibitions, year round art classes, and special art-related cultural events for the citizens of Tallahassee and surrounding area. We hope you will visit soon and we look forward to seeing you.

The LeMoyne exhibition space is located in a National Register property with adjoining facility housing art classrooms. All facilities are located three blocks from the Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida. As many as three hundred artists per year show their work at LeMoyne, and Art Education classes for both children and adults are offered year round. Special events include the annual Holiday Show in December and the annual CHAIN OF PARKS ART FESTIVAL in the spring.

The Helen Lind Sculpture Garden is located to the rear of the LeMoyne gallery, an excellent setting for LeMoyne's permanent sculpture collection. A delight in any season of the year, the gardens provide the perfect place for a relaxing stroll or a bird-watching picnic lunch for downtown workers. The garden is also available for rent to the public.

LeMoyne distinguishes itself in offering the very best of local, regional and national creative arts. An average of 108,000 international and US visitors come to the gallery and surrounding facilities each year. The Board of Directors and Staff of LeMoyne invite you to become a part of this outstanding community resource.
