🎨✨ A little glimpse into our Visual Arts class today!

We spent time working on our passion projects and practicing the basics of drawing, and I love seeing all the different ways creativity comes to life!

From watercolor paintings sprinkled with salt to printmaking carvings, glass art, and traditional painting, every student is exploring new techniques, experimenting with materials, and bringing their own unique ideas to life. 🖌️🖼️

👻🎨 Ghostly Goodness at McKittrick Elementary! 🎃✨

We had a SPOOKTACULAR day in art class! 👻🖌️ Today, our young artists put the finishing touches on their sculpted ghost lanterns with beautiful decoupage, transforming them into unique little works of art! 🕯️🤍

But the Halloween creativity didn’t stop there! 🎃 We also made adorable ghost garlands to bring a little BOO-tiful spirit to the classrooms! 👻👻👻.

🎨✨ A week full of artistic inspiration! ✨👻

This week in Visual Arts, we took a field trip to the Taft College Art Gallery to explore an art show and meet abstract watercolor artist Lori Travis! 🖌️💧 Lori graciously answered all the curious questions our young artists could dream up, giving us a wonderful opportunity to learn directly from a working artist!

Back in the classroom, we finished up our ghost lanterns 👻🏮 that we sculpted last week and added decoupage details. Then it was time to unleash our creativity and create our very own abstract watercolor masterpieces! 🎨🌈

From exploring art in a gallery to creating our own unique works, it was a week filled with imagination, discovery, and creative expression! ❤️

What a special night! 🦚🎨💗

I was so blessed to be part of the Westside Outreach and Rescue Paint Night fundraiser at The ARC in Taft!

Westside Outreach and Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue dedicated to helping stray, abandoned, and neglected pets throughout Taft and our surrounding Westside communities. Hearing the stories—not only of the animals they’ve rescued, but of the people whose lives they’ve touched along the way—was truly moving. ❤️

This incredible group is making a real difference in our community, and they sure know how to throw a gathering! From an amazing charcuterie spread and complimentary beverages to raffles, laughter, and lots of fun, everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening while supporting such a meaningful cause.

And of course… everyone did an amazing job painting their peacocks! 🦚🎨✨

Thank you, Westside Outreach and Rescue, for letting me be a small part of such a beautiful night. What a joy to paint, laugh, and give back together! 💕

🎨🌵 A little mystery, a lot of creativity!

Today, We started with a mystery painting—everyone began painting without knowing exactly where we were headed… and somehow, it all came together into a beautiful desert scene! 🏜️✨

It was such a wonderful time painting, laughing, and creating together with this amazing community. There’s just something special about getting together and making art! ❤️🎨

Thank you, ARC, for having me! I can’t wait for the next one!
