Did you know that in 2019, the Sylvania Area Historical Society, the Historical Village, and Friends of the Lathrop House came together to form Heritage Sylvania? As one unified organization, our mission is to preserve, share, and celebrate the rich history of our community.

Managing three separate social media pages for each platform is quite the task for our small team, so we’ve consolidated all updates under one place — the Heritage Sylvania page!

Exciting news for us!

Heritage Sylvania is thrilled and honored to have been selected as one of 16 charities to receive funds through the Dana Open Charity program. The Dana Open first held in 1984 has been a part of Sylvania’s summer since it moved to Highland Meadows Country Club in 1988. This premier LPGA event attracts professionals and enthusiasts from all over the world. From the start, the Dana Open has provided funding for nonprofit organizations with a mission to help, educate and inspire children in Northwest Ohio.

Come visit us at the Heritage Center Museum July 1 from 11:00 - 2:00, July 2 and 9 from 1:00 - 4:00 and regular weekend hours of Saturday 11:00 - 2:00 and Sunday 1:00 - 4:00 starting July 22. The Lathrop House will be open regular Sunday hours of 1:00 - 4:00 starting July 16.
