Believe it or not, this is a postcard! Leather postcards were popular souvenirs but were only briefly used for mailing. After the introduction of machine sorters in 1909, the cards would jam the machines and were phased out.

Come see our leather postcard collection at the museum. Our hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 10-4 and Sundays from 12-5.
