The Art Department at the South Carroll Senior Center

The Art Department at the South Carroll Senior Center Art Classes and Workshops are open to anyone 60 years of age or over. Regular classes are on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

Mondays From 1 to 3:30
We begin the new year with a new class -
“Making a Big Mess” during Monday afternoons. During this class, we will drip, pour, dribble, and spin paint, and use a variety of techniques to make decorative paintings. This is the most fun, mesmerizing and satisfying kind of painting. Attendees will pay an additional $10 to the instructor to offset the costs of special materials.

“Painting and Drawing” - Tuesdays from 1 to 3:30

This class is for students that already have some knowledge of creating art. Attendees work on their own projects, at their own pace, with guidance as needed from the instructor. Artists are working with charcoal, colored pencils, watercolor and acrylics. All skill levels are represented and students share knowledge and information in a relaxed setting. This is a social class, with discussions ranging from Art History, popular books, cooking, vacation spots and television shows. The cost of either class is only $25 for 10 to 12 weeks.
