Rustic tables can be made with Mesquite lumber that has a lot of imperfections. Stains, holes and knots, all contribute to the "rustic" motif. With this job, I made a second table to match the original, using Mesquite that I had harvested from a fallen tree in my yard.

Making display stands for artifacts can be fun, especially with free rein. The first stand provides just enough support to keep the model boat upright. This is the first look at the commemorative flag box that I've been working on. The box is made with Honduras Mahogany and finished with lacquer. The window panel is acrylic. I'm not sure whether I'll hinge the top panel to the bottom or seal it with six brass screws. The other question I have is, will I build a separate box for the medals or attach it to the base as an extension? I'm waiting to hear from the customer. More photos when finished.
