The anticipation is over! The Sumter County Gallery of Art opens its doors this evening at 5:30 PM for the opening reception of TWO incredible exhibitions presented as part of HANDWORK: Celebrating American Craft 2026!

🎉 Celebrating Leadership in Sumter County!

A heartfelt thank you to Central Carolina Community Foundation and Together SC for investing in nonprofit leadership and creating opportunities for Sumter County to be represented in the 2026 Carolina Leadership Seminars (CLS)!

We are proud that Dr. La Ruchala Murphy, Executive Director of the Sumter County Gallery of Art, has been selected as one of 27 nonprofit leaders from across South Carolina for this year’s cohort. CLS provides nonprofit executives with leadership development, peer connections, and practical tools to strengthen their organizations and the communities they serve.

We are grateful for partners who recognize that investing in nonprofit leaders is an investment in stronger communities and we look forward to bringing what is learned back home to Sumter, Lee, and Clarendon counties!
