Charcoal Drawing Recap ✍️

Trying something new can be intimidating but, these students stepped up to the plate. They learned how to slow down, really pay attention to light, shadows, and values. This was the first time most of these students had ever drawn with charcoal. It was wonderful watching them gain confidence and to see their skills blossom throughout the class. They did an amazing job ❤️💕
Charcoal & Linen.

Kinusaiga is sometimes called Japanese fabric painting, but there isn’t a drop of paint involved. Small pieces of fabric are carefully tucked into the design to build the image, almost like painting with cloth.

Look at what this wonderful group created! 🥰

Thank you to everyone who spent the afternoon creating with me at Charcoal & Linen I absolutely loved seeing your ideas come to life.

There are more creative classes to come.❤️

🌺 A field of poppies bloomed at Charcoal & Linen!

Our Beginning Acrylic class was such a fun evening of learning, experimenting, mixing color, and putting brush to canvas.

One of my favorite things about a class like this is watching everyone begin with the same inspiration and blank canvas and then seeing completely different paintings emerge. Same subject. Same lesson. Four different artists. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to our instructor Lori Anderson-Datus for creating such a welcoming space to learn and paint.

More creative evenings are coming to Charcoal & Linen. 🎨

Dragonflies have long symbolized transformation, resilience, and joy.

This month in our Kennesaw class, we will be creating this vibrant dragonfly, using the beautiful Japanese art of fabric mosaic.

Kennesaw began in Japan centuries ago as a way to give treasured kimono fabrics new life. Instead of sewing, colorful fabrics are carefully tucked into carved grooves to create stunning works of art – no stitching required. Every piece is unique, and choosing your fabric is half the fun.

Whether you’ve ever tried Kennesaw before or you fall in love with this relaxing art form, I’d love for you to join us.
