Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year's Day Tour the station and train museum and enjoy the 1907-era HO gauge model railroad. The Suffolk Seaboard Station Railroad Museum is open daily 10am to 5pm. The last museum entry is at 4:30pm.

SUFFOLK TOURISM TO REOPEN SEABOARD STATION RAILROAD MUSEUM

SUFFOLK, VA (June 16, 2026) Suffolk Tourism is pleased to announce the official reopening and ribbon-cutting for the Seaboard Station Railroad Museum at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026. After a burst pipe and subsequent flood in August 2023, the circa 1885 structure required extensive repairs and renovations. Located at 326 North Main Street in downtown Suffolk, the Queen Anne style building is reminiscent of the Victorian age and features a tower with a beautiful walnut spiral staircase. The restored station displays a two-room HO-scale model of Suffolk in 1907, originally created by the Tidewater Division of the National Model Railroad Association. Curated railroad exhibits and memorabilia, a special peanut exhibit, a vintage caboose, and a gift shop round out one of Suffolk’s most recognizable landmarks. Following the ribbon-cutting, the Museum will be open to the public Sunday – Wednesday, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., and Thursday – Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. More information is available at SuffolkTrainStation.com and by calling 757-514-4135.
