A huge “Welcome Aboard” to Captain Jack Gage! Jack is the museum’s new Harbor Master! He will be focused on waterfront safety and a few other things that will be announced soon! Jack is a former (or rather, “is”) a United States Marine, and he is also the Director of the non-profit veterans organization Patriot Racing Project. The museum has been working with Jack and his organization on several other projects, with more to come. Stay tuned!

This ship was built in 1919, served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was a heavy duty working tug up until early in the 21st century! The colors of the Jim Kress Maritime Lighthouse Tower tonight are to celebrate Earth Day! The holiday was created in 1970 by Ga***rd Nelson, a junior senator from Wisconsin. Blue for the water that covers more than 70% of our planet (and we are a maritime museum). Green for the land, and all that grows on it.
