The Door County Maritime Museum preserves Great Lakes maritime history, primarily focusing on Door County, Wisconsin, and provides interpretative and educational opportunities for current and future generations. We do not allow pets, or emotional support animals in the museum, only properly trained service animals are allowed. *Rest rooms are for museum guests only and located off the first, and

second floor lobbies in the legacy museum (not the tower). If you wish to donate an item that may be of historic significance, please see the "donation" page on our website for instructions on how to begin that process (www.dcmm.org)

Preserving the incredible maritime history of Door County takes commitment, and a team of dedicated profesionals to not only care for artifacts, but to research their stories, create immersive exhibtion experiences, document the maritime history occuring around us today, and make sure it will live on in purpetity for our community. This 100 year old photo shows Sturgeon Bay Boat Works just a few years after it started operations. Three decade later the company was renamed Palmer Johnson Yachts and in the 1960s Bill Parsons became a partner. Over the next 4 decades, Palmer Johnson Yachts constructed world-class vessels ranging in size from 80' to 195'. Vessels custom made for the likes of Ted Turner, and the King of Spain.
