Ned Hamilton, ski industry influencer, is being inducted into Vermont Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame May 30th at Killington. Join us!

Hamilton has spent a lifetime shaping the landscape of skiing in his home state and beyond. He founded Peter Glen Ski Shop in 1958. What began as a modest venture, quickly grew into a regional force, and then a national one. In 1998, Ned made a pivotal move to preserve Vermont’s ski heritage by purchasing Bolton Valley resort, ensuring the continued operation of a cherished, family-friendly ski area. Honored with multiple Retailer of the Year awards, recognized by SKI Magazine as a Top Shop, a member of the National Sporting Goods Association Hall of Fame, and the recipient of Snowsports Industries America Lifetime Achievement Award, Ned’s contributions to the ski industry are as enduring as the Vermont winters he grew up with.

There will be a short documentary about Ned and the other inductees, a cocktail reception and camaraderie at the Killington K1 Lodge from 5:00-8:30.

Help us celebrate Ned and the other inductees - Hannah Teter, John Tidd, Win Smith, Harry ‘Rebel’ Ryan and Gary Black. Learn more about the Ned and the other inductees on our website along with ticket information.

Attention Tele and Nordic friends! John Tidd is being inducted into the Vermont Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame on May 30th at Killington. If you’re in either of those free heel worlds your paths have most likely passed. Perhaps you skied at his Mountain Meadows Cross Country Ski Area in Killington in the 70’s? If you’ve ever admired groomed tracks, he’s the one who revolutionized grooming by developing the TiddTech groomer pulled behind a snowmobile. The TiddTech revolutionized grooming for Nordic areas all over the country. If you’ve gone for your EPSTI or PSIA training for Nordic or Telemark certification during the past 40 years, you may have had Tidd as your instructor or examiner.

He’s been a transformative force in Nordic skiing for more than five decades, shaping the sport through instruction, innovation, and leadership at both the regional and national levels. Today, you can still find him freeheeling in the woods or at Killington.

Please join me in celebrating and honoring John’s amazing contributions and achievements and induction into Vermont Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame. Win Smith to be Inducted into 2026 Vermont Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame on May 30th at Killington

Win Smith is a lifelong skier whose leadership and vision have had a profound and lasting impact on Vermont skiing and the broader ski industry. Best known for his role in the revitalization of Sugarbush Resort, Win demonstrated unwavering commitment in guiding the mountain’s return to prominence after a prolonged period of underinvestment. Under his leadership, Sugarbush reemerged as a premier Vermont ski destination, balancing respect for its storied history with forward-looking investments in operations, infrastructure, and the skier experience.
Win’s influence extended far beyond Sugarbush through his service as Chairman of the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), where he helped shape policy, sustainability efforts, and best practices for ski areas nationwide. His thoughtful, steady leadership earned him deep respect across the industry and culminated in his selection for the NSAA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. Through decades of dedication, Win Smith has strengthened not only a beloved Vermont resort, but also the long-term health and vitality of skiing at both the state and national levels.

Please join us in celebrating and honoring Win’s Induction at Killington Resort on May 30th from 5:00pm - 8:30pm.
