At Black Cat Café, we understand how hard it can be to find places to eat when you have gluten or lactose intolerance. It can be difficult to find places that cater to people with food allergies, whether you’re traveling, want to have a lunch date out with friends, or just don’t want to deal with the hassle of making every one of your meals. That’s why all food and drinks made at Black Cat Café ar

e not only dedicated gluten free, but dairy free as well. In addition to our allergen friendly menu, all items are clearly labeled with their ingredients and allergen info. Black cats are often treated differently simply for being who they are, due to superstitions or old tales. I feel like a lot of us can relate to that. That’s why I want to honor all of the amazing black cats in the world. Whether it’s an actual black cat, a queer artist, an eco-warrior, or the thing that makes you uniquely you, ALL black cats are loved and appreciated here at Black Cat Café and Gallery. In the fall I had the pleasure of vending at Fall Fest at the Heartland Farm Sanctuary. If you've ever visited them you've probably had your heart stolen by the adorable Esther. When I met that cute gal I knew I had to draw her. I could just picture her curled up under a blanket enjoying a cup of tea, reading a book, knitting, the possibilities are endless!

Meet Cindy of Live and Let's Dye! From pillowcases, bandanas, tapestries, aprons, and sweatshirts, Cindy can dye it all.

Live & Let Dye started just a few years ago, after Cindy retired from her role as an educator for the UW System. She began dying pieces for her granddaughters, other family members, and friends. She learned everything she knows from tie dye tutorials on YouTube – thanks to Mr. Tie Dye, and many other generous artists.

Did you know that a lot of the clothing and linens that Cindy dyes are upcycled? Not only will you feel good about supporting a Wisconsin artist, but you'll be supporting the environment too! Tie Dye, similar to watercolors, is so beautiful and unpredictable, each piece that Cindy creates is one-of-a-kind. Oh me, oh my, we have not one, but two workshops going on next Friday! On Friday the 13th! Ooooo..... SPOOKY! 🎃

Next Friday, we will have a crochet workshop hosted by the lovely Amanda Langer.

"This class will introduce you to some weird, funky, and fun ways to bring crochet into your life and home. Participants will embellish a simple object with simple crochet stitches, transforming it into something completely new. Some objects to be embellished will be provided. However, students are encouraged to bring an object or two of their own to experiment with. Objects might include bones, sticks, wood, old knick-knacks, broken things, etc. Some crochet hooks and thread/yarn will be available for use. Students are asked to please bring their own materials if they are able."

Basic crochet knowledge is required.

WORKSHOP #2
For those like myself who do not have an understanding of crochet (I'm telling you that s**t is magic), I will be guiding a little painting workshop. We'll be painting some spoopy little candle holders just in time for Halloween! Each participant will get to make 2. You'll get your choice of 2 of the following: pumpkin, black cat, bones, or witches brew. No experience needed, ages 10 on up. Just bring yourselves, and maybe some crappy clothes in case you get paint on yourself. 🖌️😄

I don't know what does to their blueberry icing that they use for their blueberry lemon, or this week's flavor, BOOberry crisp, but it is the stuff of dreams.🤤 Topped with a delicious oatmeal crisp, this flavor will get gobbled up fast, so be sure to stop by and grab one for yourself today.

We've also got some vanilla and chocolate on hand for those who enjoy the good ol' classics.....or we did, but dang y'all gobbled these all up before I could finish posting about their yumminess.
