On Tuesday, August 25 @ 7:00 pm. @ the Little Red Schoolhouse, George Irwin will be discussing " Railroads Around Sterling." George will point out the fact that if we drew a 20 mile radius around Sterling, we would find six railroads of the past . This discussion will be on the trains, how they came to the area and lastly why. Hope you can make it, we'd be glad to see you, so don't forget where you'd like to be on Tuesday, August 25.

Tuesday, June 23rd, @ 7:00 pm the Sterling Historian Society will be at the Little Red Schoolhouse for this months program. Gene Longley will be our speaker and his program is " A Tale is Told: The Longley's." This discussion will include the history of the Longley name, their migration to the USA and their local history in Sterling.
All of our programs are free to the public, you do not have to be a member of the historical society to particapate in any of our events.

Tuesday, May 26th at 7:00, we will be at the Schoolhouse to hear Barb Warner Deane.
Barb will be discussing "Women of World War II: On the Front Lines and the Home Front. Between Rosie the Riviter and the Atomic Girls , women made contributions to the war effort.
Stop on over and stay a while.

On Tuesday, April 28th @ 7:00 PM at the Little Red Schoolhouse, located at 1294 State Rt. 104A, Sterling; will be having their first program of the season.
Lee Hickey has agreed to be our first speaker. Her topic for the night will be "The Murder of Cora Sweet". This brutal murder that took place in Scriba, New York; according to the "Oswego Daily News, May 29th, 1905. A slideshow and book signing event will take place that evening. If you attended last years program, Lee introduced her first book called "Girl in the Glass Coffin: the Tonkin Affairs. This should be another interesting topic. Please join us and see for yourself what this book is about.
