A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our gardens for QCMM this year! We had an incredible turn out, with wand making, scavenger hunts, and games! We had amazing weather and so much fun!

We were honored to have Lieutenant Governor Ghazala Hashmi and her team stop by the museum yesterday. Her kurta and pants that she wore at her 2026 LG Inaugural Ball are on display in our temporary exhibit, Remember the Ladies: Fashion, Freedom, and the Fabric of a Nation, 1776–2026. This special exhibition explores American history through the clothing women wore and the lives they lived.

Here's a fun trip down memory lane!🚗

In 2018, the Pierce-Arrow made a special trip to Richmond and hung out at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture. Thankfully she didn't have to make the drive all on her own, she had a little help!

Our museum expansion is slowly coming together! 🏛️

Items are continuously being installed in our new exhibits upstairs, and we’re getting more and more excited to see everything come together.

There’s still plenty of work to do, but it’s getting closer every day! We can’t wait to share these new spaces with you!

🏛️ From Our Collection

Take a look at this stunning double wool cape with collar!

This cape was worn by Mrs. C.G. Francis (1837–1906) and was donated to the museum by Dr. Charles Ga***rd in 1991.

Interestingly, similar styles were offered in the 1902 Sears Catalog for $1.98.

Our first Family Weekend starts this Saturday!

Beginning this weekend, September 5-6, CMA's Valley Subaru Family Weekends with WWPL will be offering an affordable and welcoming opportunity for families to explore our museum!

🔸Accompanying adults may visit through our Pay What You Will admission program

🔸 Enjoy games , scavenger hunts, and tours of the birthplace & museum
