Historic Vance House Civil War Museum Historic Vance House Museum The Historic Vance House Museum is open for tours and meetings upon request.

The home where Governor Zebulon Vance lived at the close of the War Between the States. Also the home where he was arrested on his 35th birthday by 300 Federal troops. Vance known as the "War Governor" was also well known as the attorney for Tom Dula. Dula was hanged in Statesville not far from the Vance House.
