Boyden Gallery, St. Mary's College of Maryland The Gallery is located on the 2nd floor of Montgomery Hall, St. Mary's College of Maryland

Admission is free and open to the public.

The mission of Boyden Gallery at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is to serve as an educational and cultural resource for students, faculty and staff of the College and the broader Southern Maryland community. Boyden Gallery and the Fine Art Collection are guided by the conviction that engagement with visual art, media and culture is a key component of a liberal arts education. The Gallery promotes

visual literacy, object-based learning and the understanding of visual art in its historic and cultural context through exhibitions, educational programs, interdisciplinary exploration, and community engagement.

All Student Show Artwork Pick Up Alert! To those who participated in the All Student Show for the spring semester, it is time to pick up your work from the gallery!

See Below for Details! Feel free to reach out if there are any questions or concerns regarding artwork pick up!

Details -

When?
You can pick up your work on Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26 between 11am - 4pm, at the Gallery. One of the staff will be there to ‘check out’ the work to you.

Who?
Only you as the artist or any person(s) you authorized on your behalf when you dropped off the work will be able to retrieve it. Gallery staff won’t release the work to anyone else other than the owner or the owner’s designee, which we logged when you dropped it off.

Work that isn’t retrieved by the end of the day on Friday, April 26 will be placed in the Monty Upper Commons hallway just outside the gallery, and you can pick it up whenever the building is open. However, once the work is placed in the hallway, the Gallery is no longer liable for its care or if someone else takes the work with them. Work that hasn’t been claimed by the end of the semester (Saturday, May 11) will be disposed of.

Meet our 2024 Juror for the All Student Show, Giulia Piera Livi!

Giulia Piera Livi is an interdisciplinary artist working in painting and installation. Her immersive rooms employ hyper-cohesive color and abstract forms to work out ideas of multi-functional art objects and curated domesticity. Her notable exhibitions include the Delaware Contemporary Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Arlington VA, Tiger Strikes Asteroid (Brooklyn, NY), Governors Island Art Fair in New York, Mono Practice in Baltimore, MD, and Walter Otero Contemporary Art (San Juan, Puerto Rico). She has had fellowships and residencies from the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and the Vermont Studio Center, and has also received an Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council and a Trawick Young Artist Prize from the Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards. She is currently part of the faculty at Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, NY) and the Maryland Institute College of Art.

We would like to give a huge congratulations to two of our gallery assistants Emma Bradshaw and Katie Thor Straten. These seniors are graduating and we couldnt be more thankful for all yhe hardworking they have put into each show these past couple of years. We are sad to see you both go but know you will both go on to do amazing things.❤️
