‘When I hear music, it translates into color.’” 🎨Toots Zynsky (American, b. 1951) became an avant-garde force in contemporary glass and a founding presence at the Pilchuck Glass School.
Her sense of rhythm and movement completely reimagined what glass could be. In “Green/Pink Mizimah,” color flows across the surface and the form feels almost alive. The vessel ripples and folds like draped fabric, blurring the line between glass and textile.
Zynsky studied at the Rhode Island School of Design under Dale Chihuly and was part of the formative years at Pilchuck Glass School. She later led the New York Experimental Glass Workshop (now UrbanGlass), shaping the direction of contemporary glass for decades to come.
Her work is now held in over 70 museum collections worldwide, including the Saint Louis Art Museum and the White House Collection of American Craft.

We’re excited to introduce All People All Colors, a vibrant new series now on view at the gallery. This collection of abstract colored pencil drawings celebrates the energy of human presence through luminous patterns, layered hues, and expressive forms.

In this body of work, the artist explores the relationship between color and light—how tones shift, balance, and interact to create something both dynamic and meditative. Figures emerge and dissolve within radiant fields, suggesting movement, connection, and shared experience.

Susan Prince Barron is a St. Louis-based artist who lives and works in the region. She studied Fine Arts and Color Theory at New England College in New Hampshire, and continued her education in Fine Arts and Art History at University of Missouri. Through these studies, she developed a strong foundation in both technique and theory, ultimately choosing watercolor pencil as her primary medium.

Her work centers on the relationship between color and light—how hues interact, balance, and transform within illuminated space. Susan’s drawings evoke an ethereal quality, blending color, movement, and human presence. Her compositions often feel atmospheric and luminous, inviting viewers into a quiet, reflective experience.

Even the most anticipated works can fall flat.

At a recent auction, a masterpiece bronze by Alberto Giacometti that was expected to fetch over $70 million received not a single bid. In a room of hundreds, the silence was deafening. The piece didn’t just miss expectations; it risked being “burned,” its market value diminished in full public view.

This is the hidden reality of auctions:
high drama, high visibility, and high risk.

At Kodner Gallery, we offer:

Discreet, tailored sale strategy for each work and client

Direct placement with trusted collectors, advisors, and institutions globally

No public price record that may affect future decisions

Professional valuation and guidance

Decades of experience working with estates, families, and collectors worldwide

Each artwork is handled personally and confidentially—never treated as a commodity.

Instead of spectacle, we provide discretion.
Instead of volatility, we offer guidance.
Instead of public uncertainty, we create private confidence.

Experience the richness of nature—captured in extraordinary detail.

Now available, Nature’s Bounty Trilogy by William McKendree Snyder invites you into a world where light, texture, and stillness converge. In this piece, Snyder’s masterful hand transforms three abundant harvest scenes into something both intimate and expansive, where every detail feels alive with quiet intention.

Born in 1848 in Liberty, Indiana, William McKendree Snyder (American, 1848-1930) became one of the most important landscape painters of the American Midwest. Influenced by the Hudson River School, he brought a refined, almost meditative precision to his work. He is especially known for his depictions of beech forests and was among the first artists to paint the now-renowned Brown County landscapes. His paintings are celebrated for their meticulous realism and the way they capture fleeting natural light with remarkable sensitivity.

We're delighted to showcase this modernist masterpiece to pair with Palm Springs Modernism Week.
Each year, Palm Springs, California hosts a modernism week where visitors enjoy tours of local midcentury and modern architecture, art, and design.
This year, Kodner Gallery is celebrating with an Alexander Calder Lithograph from our own collection. Stop by the gallery today for a small slice of modernism week.

Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976) was an American sculptor, who became most famous for his kinetic abstract mobiles. Calder also made sculptural artwork and was an accomplished painter and printmaker.

His art reflects his reputation of being a beloved, decent human being who continually searched for fun and humor in that around him. He was highly independent from luxuries and focused on creativity. His last words, "I'll do it myself", tell the story of his life.

Celebrate Valentine's Day with this romantic pair of prints by Russian-French artist Marc Chagall.

In Nocturne at Vence, Chagall illustrates a series of small vignettes of romantic scenes on a soft blue background. Angels and lovers hold flowers and embrace each other and a mother lovingly holds her child on a horse. St. Paul de Vence, a commune in the French Riviera, was home to Chagall and his wife Bella in the late 1940s.

In Lovers by the River, a woman holds her lover upside down in an embrace. This striking print features figures that are a portrayal of Chagall and his wife Bella. The print's surrealist imagery and weightless figures depict a place where love and emotion override reality.
