Today's feature is a new work by Adrian Luchini, a long time Atrium artist and professor of architecture at Washington University. Luchini is known for his dramatic works, both abstract and figurative. "Wind Song" suggests a muted horizon, and reference to wind. It could be interpreted as landscape or pure abstract forms. The choice of color, blue, in various intensities, enhances the mix of interpretations "Wind Song" inspires.

We hope you stop by to see this exhibition featuring works by nineteen artists! Exhibition runs through December 31.

This week's feature "Wedged Arc" by John Schwartzkopf is installed high on the wall and references an opportunity to look up and gaze at tree structures during an experience in the park. Schwartzkopf is well recognized for his graceful sculpture including different woods and gracious design. While most are free standing, this is wall-hung and very interesting in an elevated installation. Please enjoy.

For additional Schwartzkopf pieces, please check our website. Please feel free to come to the gallery before our exhibition closes June 29.

This week's feature is "Figure 8 Island" by Ellen Glasgow. It is a depiction of a body of water or lake, river, pond, immersed in a dense green background of sun, sky, and clouds. The scene is beautifully rendered with a softness that speaks of peace. It is a very welcome scene to behold, and viewers will be moved to pause and enjoy. Glasgow is a national landscape artist whose exquisite works have been highly respected and collected for over 50 years. We hope you can take this opportunity to visit and enjoy.

Note, the exhibition is now extended through June 29.

This week's feature is "Under the Sun Every Day Comes and Goes" (2003) by Cameron Martin, a very well recognized and collected national artist. The work fits well with the current themed exhibition but also is a bit unexpected with its black and white palette. We see the structure -- the essence of a tree with all its curving and reaching limbs. It feels as though we are down to the core of a tree in the park, almost undressed, yet intriguing. The encounter adds to the deep understanding of an experience in the park.

Martin's work has been exhibited and collected by several national museums, including The Whitney Museum in New York, Albright Knox, St. Louis Art Museum, Cleveland Art Museum, and also the US State Department Art Bank. We hope you will enjoy this work.

This week's feature is "Canine with Twins", a long exposure photography piece from a series that Danziger did in Mexico, featuring twin girls shown swimming in a pool n**e. The setting is invaded unexpectedly with the presence of a dog who happened to enter the scene. The long exposure and spontaneous activity make this work more than a bit intriguing.

This week's featured piece is "Koi 1", a large canvas by St. Louis artist Fredrick Nelson. An encounter in the park of a koi pond is most certainly a welcome experience. This work can evoke a very pleasant memory. Please come by and enjoy.

Atrium announces a new Spring exhibition, celebrating and appreciating the offerings of our precious nature as encountered in a calm, inviting, inspirational setting. Indulging in a pause or more in the park deepens our appreciation for what nature has to offer in these tumultuous and busy times. Enjoyment can abound in a formal or informal easily accessible setting. Taking some time to enjoy excursions to any of the nearby parks can bring focus to the calmness and beauty surrounding both the site and its visitors. Included in the exhibition are a variety of works: paintings, sculpture, photography, and drawings, meant to inspire gratefulness as well as the need to preserve.

The exhibition will run through June 22.

Our current feature is an outstanding piece in our current "Roots" exhibition. Louis's work in the show is certainly timely as we have just experienced the solar eclipse. The theme of his series actually is outer space, and his images are inspired by those from NASA's James Webb Telescope. They seem to be ones that visitors enjoy lingering over as they ponder the details and structure of each piece.
