Frenchtown Heritage Museum A community museum. Frenchtown is part of St. Charles City and was founded as an area of settlement in the early 1769. French citizens moved out of St. Charles.

Charles' central core and created their own neighborhood away from the influx of immigrants from the East. By the mid-1800s, German families had moved into Frenchtown and intermarried into many of the founding families, creating a thriving business district and neighborhood. By the beginning of the 20th century, Frenchtown was home to successful milling companies, industrial factories, the America

n Car and Foundry, Borromeo Catholic Church, the Academy of the Sacred Heart, a stop on the Wabash Railroad, and many influential St. Charles families. Frenchtown is one of five historic districts in St. We are the largest of the five,and are located at the north end of Second Street.

La Fete du Midsummer is just around the corner, so we're sending out this little reminder to come join us for a celebration of our French-Canadian heritage and the arrival of the Summer Solstice.
Hosted in partnership with the Foundry Art Centre, this event is inside the facility, so excessive heat or rain will not spoil the fun. Live music, food vendors, games and more from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24th. With the storm water construction continuing around the Foundry, we are attaching a map to show how to access the facility. From the South, follow Riverside up to the parking lot entrance on the right, just past Adams Street. There are signs to help you find the way in. From the North, turn East on Morgan Street from 2nd Street, and stay to the right at the end of the block, through the gate onto N. Main Street, and travel along the ACF buildings all the way to the Foundry.

As construction continues on the C3 Complex and the stormwater project on Clark Street moves westward, 2nd Street will eventually be closed to traffic on both North and South bound lanes at that location. We want everyone to know that ALL Frenchtown businesses will remain open, and N. 2nd Street is still accessible from the 5th Street corridor, using any of the East/West streets from Decatur to Bayard, and Olive Street just a little further North. We've attached a map as a visual reference. Please remember to help patronize these owner/operator shops through this construction phase, because it is small businesses like these that help drive our local economy. Let's keep the vitality of our amazing community alive...support these small businesses through this construction phase, so they are still here when it is finally completed!

You may have noticed the small pink and white flags popping up around Frenchtown. These are a reminder that our event, La Fête du Midsummer, sponsored by the Foundry Art Centre and the Frenchtown Heritage Museum is almost here. La Fête du Midsummer is a celebration acknowledging the French-Canadian heritage of the founder of Saint Charles, Louis Blanchette, and the arrival of the Summer Solstice. The attached flyer lists the venders, activities and live music, all hosted inside the wonderful Foundry Art Centre. Make plans to stop by and help us celebrate!

The newest Frenchtown Community Betterment Project has landed. The Frenchtown Heritage Museum, in partnership with the City of Saint Charles Public Works, commissioned the American Iron Co to design, build and install two new year round picnic tables with 8' permanent umbrellas, now located adjacent to the arched sidewalks at the Randolph Street parking lot. We couldn't be happier with the outcome, and we hope you will all go check them out, and maybe sit awhile with some delicious food or drink from the local businesses.

The Brewseum Happy Hour is upon us, and our guest for Wednesday, June 10th is Osage Hearth and Harvest. Osage Hearth and Harvest feature homemade and homegrown items, such as jellies, jams and pantry items, as well as home and body tallow based products. They have a 15 acre homestead where they grow and harvest items for their products. As always, Good News Brewing Company offers special prices on beer and pizza during our happy hour, 4:00-7:00 p.m., so make plans to join us at 1121 N. 2nd Street.

The Brewseum Happy Hour is almost here, and we’ve got a sweet evening planned! Join us on Wednesday, May 13, from 4:00–7:00 PM at Good News Brewing Company for our monthly gathering of neighbors, stories, and good vibes.

This month’s guest business is 🍩 Donut-King. They are a St. Charles favorite bringing fresh, handmade, peanut-free donuts and local flavor to the Brewseum. Stop by their table, meet the team, and grab a treat while you’re here.

Also, the Frenchtown Garden Banners are still available! If you’re a Frenchtown resident and haven’t picked yours up yet, we’ll have them on hand during Happy Hour.

The Brewseum Happy Hour is almost upon us, and we have a very busy evening planned. Come join us on Wednesday, April 8, from 4:00-7:00 and enjoy our guests this month.

First guest business: Parkview Gardens has been serving the St. Charles community since 1929. A family run business in the heart of St. Charles, we grow flowers and plants all year long. Come see us at the Brewseum to learn even more about us and see what we do!

Second guest business: Dirty River Records is an independent record store in Frenchtown St. Charles offering a mixture of new and used records across all genres. Kyle will be spinning records from the vast selection in stock.

In addition: The Frenchtown Garden Banners are back! If you are a Frenchtown resident or business, and haven't picked up yours yet, we will be handing them out during happy hour.

As always, there will be happy hour prices on pizza and beer, so come spend a delightful, fun-filled evening with Good News Brewing-Frenchtown and the Frenchtown Heritage Museum.
