We have been doing a much needed inventory of our collections and came across this photo, c. 1917-1918 - WWI. There are no identities noted and we are wondering if anyone out there recalls seeing this photo in their family memoirs. Thanks!

The Sanford-Springvale Historical Society recently unveiled its new World War I exhibit, spotlighting local service members and the harrowing conditions faced during the Great War. Drawing from its own extensive collection alongside items loaned by local families and regional museums, the display brought the area's military history to life. The opening offered the community a powerful opportunity to reflect on and honor the sacrifices of our soldiers. The exhibit is now open to the public during regular museum hours, and all are invited to visit and explore this remarkable piece of local history.

If you attended and have additional photos to share, we would love for you to submit them at SanfordHistory.org/submissions.

Please join us for more upcoming events hosted at the Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum and Sweat-Morin Homestead, including this Saturday’s Colonial Gender Identity: Cultural, Religious and Familial Outlooks in the Colonial Era.
