VISITOR INFORMATION: The Illinois Route 66 Experience at the Illinois State Fairgrounds is open 365 days a year, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the history and spirit of the Mother Road any time of year.
During the 12 days of the Illinois State Fair, enter through Pedestrian Gate 2 to access the Experience.
Throughout the rest of the year, enter through the Main Gate Office on Sangamon Avenue. After entering the fairgrounds, drive down the hill, take your first right, and follow the road around to the Illinois Route 66 Experience.
The Experience is generally open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Admission is free, although donations to help with the maintenance and upkeep of the Experience are always greatly appreciated.
