Today At The Effingham Museum we had some visitors stop by to look around with us here .
Jamie McDaniels & His Wife Elizabeth came by on their way back home to Augusta .Jamie first said He had slept here at the Ole Jail house back the past .we first asked up in the Jail Cells lol ? He quickly replied...no no downstairs , while spending the night with His Uncle Boots ,was one of the Sheriff's Lloyd C .Fulcher ...we said ohhhhhh okay ! Great to chat with Him about visits to Uncle Boots as his family called Sheriif Fulcher. It was another Great Day at Museum as Always ♡ 2 0 2 6 ♡

Heritage Day is two months away!

The Georgia Salzburger Society Board of Directors will hold its annual Heritage Day Festival on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of historic Jerusalem Lutheran Church. The event location is 2980 Ebenezer Road in Rincon.

The local heritage festival is organized solely by volunteers and will feature colonial games, demonstrations, and displays. Revolutionary War reenactors will be in attendance and will fire muskets and cannons on the hour.

This year’s special speaker is W. Wright Mitchell, President of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. Mitchell’s presentation will focus on John Adam Treutlen and the newly published book, Georgia’s First Elected Governor: John Adam Treutlen and the American Revolution.
