For over three decades, Larry Collins has been out there doing the kind of work most people don’t think about—until something goes wrong. Roads don’t fix themselves, potholes don’t magically disappear, and storms definitely don’t clean up after themselves. That’s where Larry came in—usually before the rest of us had even had our first cup of coffee.

Yesterday, the City of Springfield, GA thanked him for his years of service and wished him well as he enters the next chapter of life - RETIREMENT!

Thank you Larry for your hard work, your leadership, and your dedication over the past 32.25 years. You’ve left your mark in more ways than one—and we’re going to miss you.

Another Great Donation To the Effingham Museum Historic Effingham Society A Set of Wooden Freight Wagon BOLSTER SPRINGS for a New / Olde Project at The Living History Site Downtown Springfield Georgia Thankyou to the Kessler Family , Mr Bobby and Lanelle Kessler and most to their Son who called Me today , telling me how he saw our post and said that these bolster springs would be needed to put this wagon together ❤️

I had the great pleasure meeting this gentleman Mr. Mikael Melitshenko at the EFFINGHAM MUSEUM. He lives in Sweden ,and was passing through our area , Google Us & stopped in for special tour ♡ I enjoyed chatting with Mikael , and talking about history and telling and showing the Jail Cells upstairs , and giving a tour , with Charlie Arnsdorff driving us around the Living History Site...kinda scary lol. J/ K was a GREAT DAY 👍

Mr James Sheffield contacted me about a old 12 foot wagon bed & sides with the footboard and seat .His family donated it to the Effingham Museum Historic Effingham Society for displaying on our Living History Site. Thank you so much Sheffield & Parker families .We will be on the lookout for another front axle and four wagon wheels to restore this wagon ♡ 2 0 2 6 ♡
