Day 4 of Paleo Camp we took a hike to the creek to pick up flat rocks for cave art and discover all sorts of fossils in the rocks, including clams and crinoids.

On Day 3 of Paleo Camp we put field jackets on our bones to prepare to remove them from the ground.

Day two of paleo camp. Today we had the kids dig in our dig site simulator where they got to learn the same techniques that we use in our field expedition out west. These jobs included digging for bone, pedestal preparation around the bone and the application of a proper protective field jacket to ensure a fossil bone can be extracted from a dig. This was followed up with a quick tour of our laboratory where the kids got to see a real dinosaur skeleton being worked on.
