The Archery World loses a Legend.

“It is with heavy heart that we report the passing of Bowhunting Legend HARV EBERS”, who passed away at the age of 91 on Wednesday, August 26, at his home in Sedalia, Missouri.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel, with Fr. Greiven Rodriguez Aguero officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the church.

Harv was an avid bow hunter, and made a world record in 1959 for the largest caribou in Alaska, using his own hand-crafted bow, which was featured on the cover of Archery Magazine on two occasions. Hunting with a bow took him all over the world. He was one of the founding members of Pope and Young and was also inducted into the North America Bow Hunters Hall of Fame.

All of us at the Archery Hall of Fame send our thoughts and prayers to the Ebers family at this difficult time.

The AHOF Phantom Express has reached its final destination tonight and all passengers have departed.

The winners of our last two drawings are Gene Hopkins from Indiana ( 🎂 Happy birthday ). Gene will be receiving one of our new logo shirts.
And Guy Learn from Florida, but a Pennsylvanian at heart, who will be able to play solitaire with his AHOF special commemorative deck of cards from our 2024 Induction.

Thank you to everyone who played along. We will think of something else to get your attention as time goes by. If anyone has any ideas let us know.

That will assure your seat on the AHOF phantom express, and if you do join the train today we will extend the trip for another day and add some more train prizes.
Here’s a picture of just a few. Some were donated by John McAteer and Gary Bogner.

Let’s have a little fun with our members today. I would like to post some photos from the past of all of you for our members to see. Maybe from your high school days or early life, or even a while back with a little description.

Text me or email and I will post them. Let’s see how much interest we can generate. Or you can add a photo in the comments below.

Jump on the AHOF Train and see how far it takes us. We might have some neat surprises along the way.

I’ll start it out with one of me when I was teenager. Seems like eons ago. I guess maybe it was.

Ok now who is next.
