The Archery World loses a Legend.
“It is with heavy heart that we report the passing of Bowhunting Legend HARV EBERS”, who passed away at the age of 91 on Wednesday, August 26, at his home in Sedalia, Missouri.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel, with Fr. Greiven Rodriguez Aguero officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the church.
Harv was an avid bow hunter, and made a world record in 1959 for the largest caribou in Alaska, using his own hand-crafted bow, which was featured on the cover of Archery Magazine on two occasions. Hunting with a bow took him all over the world. He was one of the founding members of Pope and Young and was also inducted into the North America Bow Hunters Hall of Fame.
All of us at the Archery Hall of Fame send our thoughts and prayers to the Ebers family at this difficult time.
