Take-Home Project Bags are back...and they’ll make your head spin! A limited supply is available now at Midtown Carnegie Library and The Library Station (make sure to check their hours during the holiday weekend).

This season’s project is inspired by the Springfield Art Museum’s “Exquisite Corpse” lithograph collection, a series of 18 collaborative artworks based on a popular 1920s parlor game loved by Surrealist artists. Each figure is made of three parts: head, torso, and legs. In your Project Bag, you’ll create your own imaginative character using small cardboard boxes and this artwork as inspiration.

Take-Home Project Bags are designed for ages 3–12 (and the young at heart). Each bag includes all materials and detailed instructions to complete one project, plus ideas for repurposing and recycling leftover materials. Projects connect to artworks, artists, or techniques represented in the Museum’s collection.

How is the Springfield Art Museum continuing to connect people with art during our temporary closure? In our second behind‑the‑scenes video, Museum Educator Lori Gipson and Communications Specialist Nicole Chilton share how programs like Artis Everywhere and On the Lawn continue bringing museum experiences directly into the community, and what these experiences will look like when we reopen with new green spaces, expanded outdoor areas, and welcoming areas designed for gathering and creating together.

This free program is held at The Library Center's Hatch Auditorium, 4653 S Campbell Avenue.

“It's 1979, and as a dedicated patron of the arts and up-and-coming megastar of the NYC cultural landscape, you're not surprised to be invited to meet up with some of Warhol's "factory girls" and associates at Studio 54. But when you get there, something is a little off. You walk up to the coat check and are given something by the attendant. Suddenly, you're stumbling into a secret scene...maybe a whole new dimension! As you pass through the rack of fur coats and leather jackets of NYC's cultural elite, you find yourself somewhere very peculiar. It reminds you of those crazy platform, aquarium heels you saw Twiggy wearing last week...but you're inside the shoe? How did you get here? How do you escape? Why would you want to escape? Who or what are these sparkling goldfish apparitions? Welcome to The Fishbowl.”

99x is an unforgettable night of art, music, fashion, food, and frolic — and we can't wait for you to see what the region's boldest and brightest creatives have in store!
Throughout the evening, you'll step inside immersive art tableaux designed by talented visionaries like the team at Deitra Magazine.

Inspired by the decadent nightlife and fearless fashion of Studio 54, Deitra After Dark is a celebration of music, style, self-expression, and the beautiful creatures who come alive after dark. Sequins, metallics, velvet, faux fur, dramatic beauty, and underground glamour collide in a world that feels part disco fantasy, part Deitra after-hours.

There is something in the world of Studio 54 that has always felt familiar to Deitra: fashion as spectacle, nightlife as a gathering place for artists and creative vagabonds, and the freedom to become a little more extraordinary after dark. Drawing from Studio 54 and Deitra’s own archive of runway shows, backstage moments, and creative mischief, the tableau brings those worlds together. Records, cassettes, and CDs weave decades of music culture into the scene, connecting the disco era to the generations that followed.

It’s glamorous, strange, a little wild, and unmistakably Deitra.
