I've been working diligently to get ready for the Open Studio scheduled for September 13, 1:00 - 5:00 pm at Spring Cottage, and the work will continue into next week.

The Addicks-Bear Creek Chapel painting sold a few years ago, but I love the painting since the Chapel is real on Hwy. 6. When I first moved to Harris County in 1968 there was no development along Hwy. 6. This little Chapel stood alone on the side of the highway as an icon in the meadow. I'm taking a walk down Memory Lane. This oil painting of a Texas Bluebonnet came to life after I lay on the ground to take close up photos. The Bluebonnets bloomed abundantly across Mom's front side yard. I have been missing Mom a lot lately. She had flowers growing everywhere.

Good Morning ... This has been an exciting week. The art studio is still in the setup process. A date has been selected for the first Open Studio Event: Second Sunday, September 13, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm. Of course, you are welcome to stroll in whenever you see the flag flying out front and the open sign lights are on. Thank you for your patience as the artist's studio comes to life at Spring Cottage.

In the meantime, have lunch or dinner at Lynn's Table on Gentry St. in Old Town Spring, where a few of my paintings are available.

One of the things I love most about being a small business in Old Town Spring is having the opportunity to support other local people who are creating something of their own.

We’re so pleased to introduce local artist and small business owner Vernita Bridges Hoyt, whose beautiful original oil paintings are now on display throughout Lynn’s Table. Vernita is also the artist behind Spring Cottage Gallery, her art space at 211 Midway in Old Town Spring.

Rather than simply hanging artwork on our walls, we loved the idea of Vernita’s paintings becoming part of the warmth and character of Lynn’s Table, surrounded by the conversations, meals and moments shared here every day.

With Friends For Life Animal Shelter – I just got recognized as one of their top fans! 🎉 Spring Cottage is in Old Town Spring just north of Houston and is in the process of conversion to Vernita’s design and art studio. Vernita adopted Ellie, a black lab cross, two years ago from Friends for Life.

The gallery at Spring Cottage is in the process of conversion to the shop owner’s design and art studio. Currently we are cleaning floors and walls and will soon be moving her art supplies and easel into the space. That job is bigger than it sounds. Artists have a lot of art supplies and other art related stuff. Check back again soon. Thank you for your patience.

“Zeus” is 30x24 inches, a great showcase piece. Available. Berryman has a talent for focusing in on what really matters, the dog’s eyes and face. What an expression! I just want to reach out and pet this pretty face.
