A Hitchcock classic from 1959, North by Northwest, is this month’s Friday Night Movie at the MAC! Bring your own snacks or purchase some from us as we settle in for an evening of mystery, suspense, and classic cinema!

Friday, October 16, Matt Bolton, director of film studies at Gonzaga University, shares fun facts and insights into this iconic film. Part of our Friday Night Movie series inspired by the exhibition America on the Move.

The film begins at 6:30pm with doors opening at 6pm. Tickets are $8 or $7 for MAC members and can be purchased online or at the door. See you at the movies!

Explore the history of grief, mourning rituals, and Spiritualism during Memento Mori: Death and Dying in Campbell House. This special guided tour looks at how Grace Campbell coped with the loss of her husband, Amasa, in 1912, and how traditions surrounding death and remembrance have evolved over time.

Tours take place October 29, 30, and 31, from 4–5 pm, beginning in the Carriage House. Tickets are $12 for members and $15 for non-members. Space is limited, so reserve your spot online or at the admissions desk!

We’re just a few weeks away from the 2026 MAC Art Auction!

Cocktail attire. Open bar. Heavy hors d’oeuvres. Exclusive live painting. And a LIVE art auction with 18 recently crafted pieces plus works on papaer to bid on in support of the MAC Art Acquisition program.

Saturday, October 17 with doors at 5:30pm and the auction from 6:30–8:30pm in the MAC Gallery. Tickets are on sale now through October 12.

Today - Saturday, October 3 - from 11am until 3pm is Our Stories: HerStory, a free community event at the MAC presented in partnership with YWCA Spokane!

Discover Spokane’s history through the perspectives of women who have shaped our local YWCA over the past 123 years. HerStory also honors the courage and voices of survivors of intimate partner domestic violence while highlighting the YWCA’s ongoing work to support survivors, create pathways toward healing, advance equity, and prevent future violence.

Throughout the day, enjoy performances, interactive storytelling stations, music, food, and community booths. Experience a StoryWalk featuring poetry by survivors alongside artwork inspired by their words, and explore Campbell House, where stations throughout the historic home will share stories from YWCA Spokane’s 123-year history.

Admission to the museum, Campbell House, and all event activities is FREE to the public.
