Does anyone know of a licensed business or such that would change out burnt out florescent lights? It's for my business that has a 12 foot ceiling so we can't just do it ourselves.

Update on our COVID-19 policy

As we all know, indoor mask mandates are being lifted statewide on March 12th. This is a big change and we've talked a lot about our policy going forward.

After the 12th we will follow state policy and no longer require masks to design custom framing or enter the store. However, we understand that a good many people might be nervous about the mandate lifting; whether feeling anxious about the change, feeling they're lifting too soon, or any number of reasons. We admit to feeling anxious ourselves; it's been a rough 2-plus years. There are some that have heath issues and can't be vaccinated therefore are rightfully worried about their health.

So, for the time being we will still have masks on our persons and are happy to wear them for customers that wish it, no questions asked. We will continue to run our hepa-UV air filter, keep frequently washing hands (we did that already, lest an oily fingerprint ruin matting or harm someone's artwork), and keep surfaces disinfected.

If anything changes we'll update this post. We look forward to serving you in 2022 and beyond.

The health and safety of our customers has been our number one concern during this pandemic, and we want to assure everyone that anything we propose going forward is done so with that in mind.

According to CDC guidelines, people who are fully vaccinated (both shots for Pfizer or Moderna +2 weeks, or the single Johnson & Johnson shot +2 weeks) no longer have to wear masks. Jennie and I are on course but not yet fully vaccinated, so for the time being we will certainly be wearing our masks. We should be fully vaccinated after the first week of June. After that, anyone that would be more comfortable with us wearing masks can rest assured, we are more than willing to accommodate without question. Again, your health and safety is our number one concern, and if you even just feel safer with us masked, we will happily do so. To be honest, we're not sure if we're going to stop wearing masks for our customers as a policy even after we're both fully immunized. Time will tell.

We ask, for the time being, that our customers still wear their masks even if they are fully vaccinated. This is both to protect our health and the health of any customers, and in consideration of everyone's piece of mind. Again, this is a respectful request, not a mandate by us. We cannot, nor do we have the authority to, ask for proof of vaccination. We ask this of our customers with their privacy and their well being in mind.

We are requiring, for the time being, a limit on the number of customers in the shop at one time. Until today, that limit was 2; we will now be allowing 4 customers in the shop at one time. Designing custom framing takes time, and our shop is small, so a limit on the people in the space is done with everyone's safety in mind. This limitation is subject to change based on any new information or guidance from the CDC.

We invite any respectful feedback to these policies, and again, we make them with everyone's health and well being the top consideration. Know that we will continue to keep the shop disinfected as well as possible and we've always kept our hands washed. One oily fingerprint can ruin an hours work. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Starting May 22nd, retail businesses are open to in-store
purchases with restrictions. What that means for us is we
may now design custom framing in store with you,
one customer at a time. In addition, all customers are
mandated to wear masks covering their mouth and
nose for their protection and ours. We will be wearing
masks, face-shields, and gloves when designing your framing
with you.

We are still happy to offer contact-free design services to those that wish it. Drop off days are Monday through
Thursday between 11:am and 5:pm. Please include your
name and contact information with your artwork. Of course,
make sure we are present when dropping off your artwork as
we are not responsible for anything dropped off
outside of those hours. Also, please protect yourself and the community by wearing proper protection.
We are still offering contact-free curbside / porch
delivery and pick-up on Wednesday and Saturday by
appointment. Please attach a label to your artwork with your contact information.

Washington State Phase-1 Reopening

As of May 5th non-essential retail businesses can be open for curb-side pickups only. What that means for us is that while we can complete framing orders, we are unable to design framing in store with customers. Work can be dropped off curbside, or we can come to your home for a curbside/porch pickup with no contact. Designing can be done via text with photos, email, or face-time, whichever you prefer.

If you want to bring your projects to us, drop off days are Monday through Thursday between 11:am and 3:pm. Please include your name and contact information with your artwork. Of course, make sure we are present when dropping off your artwork as we are not responsible for anything dropped off outside of those hours. Also, please protect yourself and the community by wearing proper protection.

We are offering contact-free curbside / porch delivery and pick-up on Tuesday and Friday by appointment. Please attach a label to your artwork with your contact information.

Here's another before and after from a bit ago. The customer loved the feel of their framing, and the white frame was part of the artwork's story for them. So, we replaced the mat with a similar one (acrival, too) but with a more refined color and added a rough line to accent the artwork. The old frame was not structurally sound, so we added a frame outside of that one to hold the weight of the artwork so the old frame could remain. Of course we added a conservation backing and UV glass. Tell us what you think.

Here's a before and after with a customer project from last month. The original matting was just unrefined, the v-groove wrong with the nameplate, and it of course needed a proper frame. We chose matting more complimentary to the artwork, made the v-groove work with the nameplate, and used a stacked moulding with a touch of wood grain and a touch of an iron industrial feel. Tell us what you think!

We hope everyone is doing well, staying home, and keeping their social distance for the time being. Chloe sure misses going to work and greeting you all, but she's enjoying more frequent walks. Here she is after getting back from one the other day.

03/25/2020

We will be closed for the next two weeks, at least, due to the Washington State stay at home order. We hope to stay in contact by posting pictures of customer work that we've done somewhat recently and by showing how things are going in our daily lives. Specifically how Chloe is doing. She really does love coming into work and seeing you all. In the mean time, if you want to help us, remember us when things get back to normal, and taking a moment to give us a good review of work we've done for you on Facebook, Yelp, and Google help immensely. Everyone that can; stay home, stay save, and be well.
