We will be open for the season beginning this Sunday May 24th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm (please note these new hours this year).
Here is a peek at our displays for the season. This year we are focusing on local artists. These photos don’t do justice to the remarkable artistic work of these folks…so make it a point to stop in and see us. Remember we are open every Sunday 1-4.
Mark your calendars for July 19th-National Ice Cream Day- for our second annual celebration!

Old Cemetery Spring Cleanup is on!

The weather is looking good for Saturday 5/2 (no rain anyway). Join us if you can- the Old Cemetery at the corner of Main and Liberty streets at 9:00 a.m. Bring gloves and a rake. Even if you only have a little time to spare we’d be happy to have you. Our goal is to pile the branches for pick up and rake leaves etc.

4/24/26 UPDATE:
Due to expected rain tomorrow we will be postponing the cleanup day. We are hoping to reschedule to next Saturday, 5/2/26. More information will be provided as we get closer and see what next week's forecast brings.

Caring for Your Cemetery Day is Saturday, April 25th.

Let’s start off our 250th anniversary of America by honoring our Revolutionary War Soldiers.

We will be joining the Evergreen Cemetery Board to tackle some spring cleanup in both Evergreen Cemetery (Nichols St.) and the Old Spencer Cemetery (corner of Liberty and Main Sts.) There are 6 soldiers buried in the Old Cemetery and 2 buried in Evergreen.

Cleanup starts at 9:00 a.m. til??. Come to either cemetery, bring a rake, gloves and any other tools that might be helpful.

Please join us for an Evening of Star Gazing!

September 30, 2025
8:15 PM
19 Park Street

We hope to view a small number of objects such as the moon, Saturn, Mars and the Andromeda Galaxy. We may even find the Dumbbell Nebula which is 1,370 light years away.

Parking:

You can Park on the east side of Park Street or Nichols Park. To get to the observatory, walk up the driveway at 19 Park Street on the right side of the garage. The observatory is located on the back lot. Red light sticks will help guide the way. PLEASE do not use a standard flashlight as white light will ruin your night vision and interfere with viewing the sky. A couple of people will have red flashlights to help.

NOTE:

If the weather does not cooperate, rain or cloudy sky we will not be able to see anything and the event will be postponed to a later date.

Cider and donuts will be served.
